BACOLOD City the Business One -Stop-Shop (BOSS) that started Jan
3, 2019 will run until Jan 20 at the Bacolod Government Center.
Executive Assistant to the Mayor Samuel Montoyo said 25 barangays in Bacolod City have participated in the Business One-Stop-Shop (BOSS). They sent representatives to the shop to assist applicants of business and other permits.
The participating barangays are 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 11, 12, 13, 16, 18, 19, 22, 23, 31, 33, 37, Alangilan, Bata, Estefania, Handumanan, Mandalagan, Pahanoocoy, Sum-ag, Taculing, and Villamonte.
Bacolod has 61 barangays.
Montoyo explained that their participation in the BOSS of the Bacolod City government is required under Republic Act 11032, or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.
Montoyo cited Section 32 of the Local Government Code which stipulates that the mayor should exercise general supervision and control over all the barangays. Thus, barangays that failed to join the BOSS must be present to provide services to business permit applicants.
Non-compliant barangays will be reported to the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Civil Service Commission, and the Office of the President. A complaint for violation of RA 11032 will also be filed against them, Montoyo added.
Violators will be fined not less than P500,000 but not more than P2 million, and an imprisonment of not less than six months but not more than six years.
