ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A businessman was arrested Tuesday morning, October 15, during a gun raid conducted by police in Poblacion Norte, Ivisan, Capiz.

The search warrant was implemented by joint elements from the 2nd Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company, led by Police Lt. Col. Francisco Paguia, the Provincial Drug Intelligence Unit, and Ivisan police against Fredgil Villar Uguil, 43, of Poblacion Norte, Ivisan, Capiz.

The search was carried out in connection with violations of Republic Act No. 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act, under a warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Acting Presiding Judge Lorencito B. Diaz of Branch 18.

Operatives recovered from the suspect a hand grenade, a KG9 with a magazine loaded with ammunition, two .45 caliber pistols, a .38 revolver, three rounds of 12-gauge shotgun ammunition, three sachets of suspected illegal drugs, a red car, and motorcycles.

The recoveries matched the items listed in the search warrant, except for the 12-gauge shotgun, which was not found.

The search warrant was issued following several complaints from neighbors, accusing the suspect of indiscriminately firing his firearm and causing alarm in the area.

It was also learned that the suspect was previously involved in a stabbing case in the same area.

Uguil vehemently denied the recovered items.

He is currently in the custody of the Ivisan Police Station for proper disposition.

The suspect is a seafood dealer, primarily trading green shell products in Ivisan.
