BACOLOD CITY – In response to a request from local kiosk owners, the Bacolod City Government, through the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation (BYF), has granted kiosk operators permission to set up their stalls ahead of the highly anticipated MassKara Festival.
The initiative aims to ensure smooth business operations and provide fair income opportunities for vendors throughout the festival.
Kiosk owners will be allowed to begin setting up at their designated locations starting tomorrow, October 9. Those at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) can begin ingress at 8 p.m., while those assigned to the Bacolod Public Plaza can start at 5 p.m.
This early access provides vendors ample time to prepare, accommodate customers, and offer their best services.
“Allowing early ingress is our way of supporting our kiosk operators so they can provide excellent service and maximize their income during MassKara,” said Bacolod Yuhum Foundation Secretary and Festival Director for Cultural and Accredited Events, Kuster Cadagat.
Kiosks at the BCGC will officially open on October 11, while those at the plaza will open on October 12.
Local vendors are also optimistic about the initiative and the positive impact it could have on their businesses.
“I’m excited about this opportunity. With the early ingress and all the events planned by the LGU and Yuhum Foundation, I am hopeful for a more successful MassKara this year,” said BCGC kiosk owner Virgie Timtiman.
Meanwhile, kiosks at MegaWorld can start ingress on October 20, in line with their opening on October 23. Kiosks along Lacson Street will begin ingress on October 22, with operations starting on October 25.
The early ingress initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the city and the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation to support local businesses and ensure visitors experience a vibrant and successful MassKara Festival.
