Cabatuan’s most wanted person nabbed in NegOcc

BACOLOD City – One of the most wanted persons in Cabatuan, Iloilo province was arrested for rape and acts of lasciviousness at Barangay 9, Victorias City, Negros Occidental Thursday.

Police identified the suspect as Roel Sabajas, 62, of Barangay Talanghauan, Cabatuan.

Police Major Albert Sy, chief of Sagay City Police Station, along with Police Major Niño Leonard Amar, chief of Cabatuan Municipal Police Station, collared Sabajas for 61 counts of rape in relation to Republic Act (RA) 7610 or the “Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act” and acts of lasciviousness in relation to RA 7610.

The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Erlinda Sendino Tersol of Municipal Circuit Trial Court in Cabatuan on October 17, 2001 with no bail for rape.

A P180,000 bail was recommended for the acts of lasciviousness charge.

Sy said that Sabajas was arrested at his relative’s house. He also has relatives in Sagay City as well.

Sy said that Sabajas was already taken to Cabatuan Friday.
