Cable TV installer falls in drug bust

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A cable installer was arrested for possessing suspected illegal drugs worth P28,000 Thursday at Barangay Tacas, Pontevedra, Capiz.

Police identified the suspect as Rulo “Lawrence” Borreros, 27, of Barangay Rosario in Pilar, Capiz.

The buy-bust operation was conducted by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) and Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Pontevedra Municipal Police Station.

Recovered from Borreros were 5 sachets of suspected shabu, P500 marked money, five pieces of P100 bills, a cellphone, wallet, and a motorcycle.

Police said the suspect was also arrested before for the same offense, but he was released through plea-bargaining agreement.

He is presently detained at the Pontevedra police station and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, three persons, including a couple, were also arrested in a drug buy-bust Wednesday afternoon at Capricho 2 in Brgy. Tanque here.

The Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of Roxas City PNP and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Capiz collared Cyril Delos Santos, 35; and couple Floresto Dogello Jr., 48, and Madelyn Bulay, 39, both natives of Maayon, Capiz but temporarily residing in Brgy. Tanque here.

Recovered from the suspects were five sachets of suspected shabu, cellphone, P1,000 marked money and several drug paraphernalia.
