ROXAS CITY, Capiz – An ad hoc committee created by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Capiz will investigate the alleged anomalies in the release of financial assistance from the provincial government.
Vice Governor Jaime “Mitang” Magbanua said Governor Fredenil “Oto” Castro ordered the investigation to shed light on allegations that some employees were involved in the irregularities.
The investigative body is composed of retired prosecutors and active lawyers in the province of Capiz.
Magbanua said the provincial board is willing to cooperate with the investigation.
He called on the employees and asked them to divulge whatever they have learned about the irregularities in order to speed up the investigation process.
Magbanua vowed a partial investigation and whoever will be involved in the anomalies will face the consequences, regardless if they are elected officials, regular, job order, or contractual employees.
Meanwhile, the contracts of some employees allegedly involved in the irregularities have not been renewed until the result of the investigation is finished.
Because of the incident, Magbanua said the renewal of the contracts of job orders or contractual employees was revised from six months to every three months.
