BACOLOD City – The entire Provincial Legal Office of the Negros Occidental provincial government is under probe for their alleged absence from their stations.
PLO head Alberto Nellas confirmed to reporters Monday that the anonymous complaint was addressed to the entire office.
He said all the lawyers and the staff are under investigation including himself.
The PLO has 18 personnel.
The anonymous complaint that reached the Office of the Governor questioned the absence and unauthorized leaves of absence of the lawyers and staff.
“But there is no show cause order yet,” Nellas said.
The Daily Time Records (DTR) of the personnel were attached to the complaint, Nellas said.
He said the complainants claimed to be businessmen who wanted to transact business with the PLO under the previous administration.
Nellas also confirmed that one of the PLO lawyers, John Michael Ye resigned last week for personal reasons. He did not elaborate.
Nellas said the PLO lawyers were advised not to engage in private practice unless they have “clearance” from the Governor’s Office.
