Capiz cops train as anti-smoking enforcers

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— Police officers from the 16 towns of Capiz and Roxas City underwent a 3-day training on Anti-Smoking Enforcers/Task Force launched by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) here.

Colonel Julio Gustilo, Capiz police director, said the training aims to capacitate police officers from Dumarao, Ivisan, Jamindan, Maayon, Mambusao, Panay, Panitan, Pontevedra, Pres Roxas, Sapian and Tapaz so that they can support their respective local government units(LGU) in implementing Local Smoking Ordinances.

The training on Jan 15-17, 2020 held at the Sky Garden Hotel, San Roque Ext., Roxas City was also attended by different LGU health workers in Capiz.

During the opening program, Dr. Samuel C Delfin, Provincial Health Officer of Capiz, thanked the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) for helping in the anti-smoking campaign.

Delfin said the role of the Capiz PNP as a member of the Anti-Smoking Task Force is very important in ensuring that the local smoking ordinances are implemented in every municipality.
