Capiz logs nine cases of Delta variant of COVID-19

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — The province of Capiz on Friday last week logged nine new cases of the Delta variant of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

This was based on the results of the genome sequencing conducted by the University of the Philippines (UP)-Philippine Genome Center.

The Department of Health (DOH) in Western Visayas Center for Health Development report indicated that the six cases include:

-A 21-year-old male resident of Roxas City with no history of travel outside the province and was considered a recovered case last Sept 15, 2021;

-A 24-year-old female resident of Sigma, Capiz, no history of travel outside the province but died last Sept 17, 2021;

-A 29-year-old female resident of Panitan, Capiz, no history of travel outside Capiz and considered “Recovered Case” on Sept 16, 2021;

-A 64-year-old female resident of Dumarao, Capiz, no history of travel outside the province but died last Sept 15, 2021;

-A 24-year-old female resident of Roxas City, no history of travel outside the province of Capiz and considered as “Recovered Case” last Sept 15, 2021;

-A 35-year-old female resident of Roxas City, no history of travel outside Capiz and considered as “Recovered Case” case on Sept 13, 2021;

-A 60-year-old female resident of Roxas City, no history of travel outside the province and considered as “Recovered Case” on Sept 16, 2021;

-A 61-year-old male resident of Roxas City, no history of travel outside the province and considered as “Recovered Case” on Sept 13, 2021; and

-A 24-year-old male resident of Roxas City, no history of travel outside the province and considered as “Recovered Case” on Sept 17, 2021;

These cases have been referred to their respective local government units while their condition was monitored by the Provincial Health Office (PHO).

The PHO continues to urge the public to always observe health protocols and undergo vaccination against the disease.
