ROXAS CITY, Capiz – An estimated P7.3 million worth of illegal drugs was confiscated so far under the leadership of Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) Provincial Director, Colonel Julio Gustilo Jr.
Gustilo said the amount was based on the assessment value of the Dangerous Drug Board (DBB).
Gustilo is set to retire this month, but it was held in abeyance by the Regional Police Office (PRO)-6 until his successor has been chosen.
In a radio interview Thursday, he said that around 810.90 grams of shabu and 4.8 grams of marijuana leaves were confiscated from December 2019 to June 2021.
The CPPO conducted 171 anti-drug operations that led to the arrest of 215 suspected drug peddlers and filing of 391 cases in court.
Gustilo also cited that no drug personality was killed in the operations.
Meanwhile, 364 of the 473 barangays in Capiz and Roxas City were considered drug-cleared with corresponding certifications from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), while 5 others have pending certifications.
The towns of Dao, Dumalag, Jamindan, Sapian, Cuartero and Maayon were the latest drug cleared municipalities as of June 2021.
Gustilo said that of the 5,564 drug surrenderers, 3,469 graduated from the Community Based Rehabilitation Program (CBRP).
