SAPIAN, Capiz – A Sangguniang Bayan member of Sapian, Capiz died after he was accidentally hit by a multicab Saturday morning at Sitio Pirara in Barangay Poblacion, Sapian, Capiz.
SB member Conradlou ‘Nonoy Lou’ Hondrado was declared dead by the attending physician.
Hondrado was riding his bike when he collided with a multicab vehicle driven by Jose Tocol, 58, of Banga, Aklan.
Investigation by the Sapian Municipal Police Station indicated that the councilor was riding his bicycle when his cellphone rang.
He tried to get his phone from his pocket to answer the call but he lost control of the bicycle.
Honrado’s bike then swerved to the opposite lane and bumped into the multi cab behind him.
Tocol voluntarily surrendered to Sapian police.
Meanwhile, a senior citizen died after the multi cab he was driving accidentally crashed into a steel post Saturday afternoon at Barangay Malocloc Norte, Ivisan.
Police identified the victim as Inocentes Lipaña Arguelles, 81, of Barangay Poblacion Sur in said town.
The Ivisan PNP said Arguelles lost control of the multi cab causing him to accidentally hit the pole owned by a telecommunication company.
The victim died at the hospital.
