ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The management and staff of the Capiz State University (CapSU) Dumarao Satellite Campus were elated by the school’s high rating performance during the March 2023 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).

According to Dr. Marie Jean P. Penson, Satellite College Director, she had high hopes that there would be passers in this year’s exams. But she said she did not expect the result of the board exam wherein 10 of the 12 examinees in Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) passed or an 83.33% passing rate.

In the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) Social Studies major, 10 of the 14 examinees passed (71.43%) while for the pioneer batch of BSEd Science major, 16 of the 17 takers passed (94.12%).

Dr. Ma. Julie S. Lademora, Program Chair of BSEd/BEEd, and Elna N. Velarde, MAT in-charge, shared Penson’s observations.

Lademora said the faculty and staff of CAPSU-Dumarao gave their very best to help their students in their studies.

At present, the school is practicing the board-type kind of exam during their midterm and final exams.

“We were happy despite the lack of laboratory and equipment in the school, the students tried their very best not to outshine the other campuses of CAPSU”, she added.

Velarde who handles the Science majors, said it’s the first time in the history of CAPSU-Dumarao that its first batch of BSEd major in Science graduates almost got a 100% passing rate which posed a big challenge for the faculty to maintain if not surpass in future exams.

She stressed that they will conduct monitoring every year and if they find the students could not take the science major, they will change to another course.

The CapSU Dumarao has increased its grade requirement for the incoming first-year students to 90% general average for Education and Crim, and 85% for those who take the Agriculture course.
