CARD RBI brings Kaunlaran Caravan to Butuan Community

As part of CARD MRI Kaunlaran Caravan in Butuan City, Ms. Vanessa Argollozos (wearing a striped shirt), a CARD MBA Insurance Processor, introduced microinsurance and its significance to Filipino households.

CARD MRI Rizal Bank, Inc. (CARD RBI) brought its livelihood, financial literacy, health, and other community development programs to Butuan City in Agusan del Norte on April 18, 2024 through the CARD MRI Kaunlaran Caravan.

In line with CARD MRI’s mission to eradicate poverty, CARD RBI, a microfinance-oriented rural bank of CARD MRI, hosted the Kaularan Caravan, offering community programs and services for free to both clients and non-clients of CARD.

The event featured a range of community healthcare services, including free optical, dental, and health check-ups. The activity also included a feeding program and livelihood training sessions such as rug making. Attendees could also enjoy complimentary haircuts, manicures, pedicures, and massages.

During the caravan, CARD MRI Publishing House conducted financial literacy sessions using storytelling, featuring the storybook “Ang Alkansya ni Carding,” which emphasizes the importance of saving at an early age.

The one-day community development program benefited a total of 712 residents from Butuan.

Furthermore, the event showcased products from Mga Likha ni Inay, affordable BotiCARD products, and the microinsurance and savings products of CARD MRI.

The caravan was supported by heads and officers from CARD RBI, CARD, Inc. (A Microfinance NGO), CARD MBA, Mga Likha ni Inay, and BotiCARD.

CARD MRI Managing Director Mr. Aristeo Dequito highlighted the significance of the Kaunlaran Caravan, an initiative that aims to provide a range of services designed to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals. These services include essential areas such as livelihood and financial literacy, as well as promoting the importance of health and wellness. “The program also seeks to expand the reach of CARD MRI’s products and services to more communities to empower individuals and elevate families out of poverty,” he emphasized.

CARD MRI plans to organize more caravan programs to continue empowering Filipino communities. The next Kaularan Caravan is scheduled for May 2024 in Davao del Norte.
