Carlo Malana, President and CEO of ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) Philippines, has been awarded the Silver Stevie® Award for Most Innovative Leader of the Year at the Asia-Pacific Stevie® Awards.
The Asia-Pacific Stevie® Awards celebrate organizations and individuals for their unparalleled innovation and forward-thinking. Malana’s award highlights his dedication to driving progress and setting new standards in the data center sector.
Jomai Solano, STT GDC Philippines’ Chief Finance Officer, and Chrissie Legaspi, Head of Strategy Execution and Marketing, accepted the award on Malana’s behalf at the ceremony in Shangri-La, The Fort on May 24, 2024.
“This award is proof that Carlo’s visionary leadership will allow us to be the most sought-after digital hub in Southeast Asia,” Solano said.
Malana attributed the recognition to the collective effort of the entire STT GDC Philippines team.
“Together, we continue to push boundaries and set new benchmarks in the data center industry. Our goal is to ensure that the Philippines remains at the forefront of digital innovation, providing world-class infrastructure to support the ever-growing demand for data and connectivity,” he said.
Under Malana’s guidance, STT GDC Philippines has achieved significant milestones, such as inaugurating two next-generation data centers. The STT Cavite 2 facility, a two-story building covering over 4,500 square meters, is designed to deliver up to 6 megawatts of total IT capacity. The STT Fairview data center campus, spanning over 83,000 square meters across four buildings, is poised to offer 124 megawatts of IT load capacity once fully operational.
Additionally, STT GDC Philippines’ STT Cavite 1 facility has earned the prestigious Uptime III Certification and expanded its capacity by 5.2MW. The facility was also honored with the Asia Pacific Cloud & Datacenter Award in the Projects category by W.Media, a notable technology publisher in the Asia Pacific region.
Looking ahead, the company anticipates the commencement of services at STT Fairview 1 by early 2025. Malana envisions the Philippines as a regional digital hub, aiming to attract global hyperscalers and enterprises with cutting-edge infrastructure. His ambitious plans position STT GDC Philippines to drive the country’s digital transformation and contribute to economic growth.
