The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) recently completed the turnover of Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) data to three Iloilo municipalities – Guimbal, Mina, and Tubungan.
The data handovers mark the culmination of months-long collaborative efforts between the PSA and the respective local government units (LGUs) to gather comprehensive, up-to-date information on the socioeconomic conditions in these areas.
The turnover in Guimbal on January 31 was held at Racsos Woodland Resort and graced by Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Member Christy Love Margarico, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Engr. Reymund Famatid, and other local officials.
PSA was represented by RSSO VI OIC Nelida C. Amolar and PSA Iloilo OIC Ma. Goretti M. Novilla.
“The data that they have received will guide them on the path to success,” said Mayor Janette Garin-Colada in a video message during the turnover ceremony.
The following day, the turnover ceremony for Mina was held at the municipality’s SB Session Hall.
Mayor Lydia E. Grabato and Vice Mayor John Michael T. Defensor were present to receive the data on behalf of the LGU.
“With the help of the data that was turned over, they could target the beneficiaries, implement proper plans and programs, and enhance the proper management of the LGU,” Mayor Grabato said in her acceptance message.
On the same day as Mina’s turnover, the CBMS data handover for Tubungan was also held at the Community Learning Center of the municipality.
Mayor Roquito G. Tacsagon and Vice Mayor Leo Cezar T. Taypen led the recipients of the data.
“With the CBMS data, they would be guided in terms of policymaking and program implementation,” said Mayor Tacsagon, thanking PSA for their support.
The socioeconomic data gathered through the CBMS will help enable these municipalities to formulate evidence-based programs and policies aimed at uplifting the lives of their constituents.
