Cebu Pacific Supports Local Schools as Academic Year Begins

Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ leading carrier, has kicked off the new academic year by mounting series of initiatives aimed at supporting and improving local schools, demonstrating the airline’s strong commitment to community building and volunteerism.

More than 50 CEB volunteers dedicated their time at Andres Bonifacio Elementary School (ABES), where they cleaned classrooms, painted walls, and enhanced the garden space to create a more welcoming and conducive space for learning.

“Cebu Pacific recognizes the importance of supporting education for national development. By contributing to education, the airline helps build a more knowledgeable and skilled workforce for the future. Further, this initiative not only benefits the schools but also strengthens the communities we serve, fostering goodwill and stronger connections,” said Felix Lopez, CEB Chief Human Resources Officer.

Leonardo Balaguer, principal of ABES, expressed his appreciation for the airline’s support.

“As we start the school year, it’s essential that children have a positive and well-maintained place to learn. Initiatives like this from Cebu Pacific are key to helping us achieve that goal,” he said.

CEB, in partnership with the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF), also extended its support to ten other schools across the country. These schools, nominated by the airline’s employees, received essential supplies, furniture, and appliances to start the school year right.

Through these efforts, CEB not only enhances the learning environment for students but also strengthens its ties with the communities it serves. These reflect the airline’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, reinforcing its role as a partner in nation-building while fostering a positive impact in the Philippine growth story.
