The most successful team during the 2019 Philippine Football League (PFL) season is ready and open to accept new investors for takeover of their management and ownership heading into the fourth season of the PFL.
Ceres-Negros FC will look to defend their PFL title and at the same time resume training after the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases approved the resume of practices for both basketball and football.
However, the club is currently facing management issues after Philippine Football Federation general security Edwin Gastanes bared that the club might change ownership and management.
In a letter written by Ace Bright, Ceres’ general manager addressed to Gastanes, he said “I would like to inform you that the club is currently in talks with investors who will take over management and ownership of the club going forward.”
The club decided to break their silence after rumors started to spread regarding the club’s disbandment which they negated.
“As soon as the takeover is completed, the club will no longer be known as Ceres-Negros since our chairman Leo Rey Yanson will not be involved in any way in the affairs of the club,” the club said.
Despite the management change talks, the busmen are still eager to regain where they left off before the COVID-19 pandemic and will look to dominate the PFL and clinch the title in the AFC Cup.
