Criminal charges were filed against a seafarer who figured in a road crash that killed a couple and injured their two daughters in Sara, Iloilo.
Leone Agsamosam, 34, of Barangay Apelo, Sara, Iloilo, was accused of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, serious physical injury, and damage to property.
Lieutenant Colonel Norlan Perante, Sara police chief, said Agsamosam is preparing to post bail as of this writing.
Agsamosam figured in a road crash that killed a married couple and injured their two daughters late evening of Dec 10, 2022 at Barangay Anoring, Sara.
Killed were Glenn Asong, a construction worker, and his wife, Rother Asong, both 44 years old and residents of Barangay Posadas, Sara.
Their injured children were 18-year-old Dianne Grace and 4-year-old Desery Nicole.
The Asongs were riding a Honda XRM motorcycle from the town proper to their house when the incident happened.
Agsamosam’s Mitsubishi Strada (license plate FAB 7038) allegedly bumped the motorcycle from behind.
Agsamosam claimed he got blinded by the high beam light of an oncoming truck, thus he did not see the motorcycle ahead of him.
Glenn succumbed to head injuries while his wife and children suffered wounds on the different parts of their bodies.
Perante said all victims were not wearing crash helmets.
They were rushed to Sara District Hospital but the couple did not pull through.
Their children were referred for further treatment at The Medical City in Iloilo City.
