The Cherry Tiggo Pro Crossovers had a huge bounce back win in the Premier Volleyball League after taking all three sets against the Perlas Spikers, 25-10, 27-25, 25-23.
Tasting their first defeat against the BaliPure Water Defenders during their last game, the Pro Crossovers came out with a renewed sense of urgency and immediately put on a show.
The efficient Cherry Tiggo offense topped with their high defensive rating in their middle-blocking only allowed Perlas with 10 first set points.
Perlas tried to equalize in the second set in a nail-biter but Jaja Santiago’s 15 points off 11 attacks were too much to handle.
Nicole Tiamzon of the Spikers carried her team in the last set and gave them a 23-21 lead but Arriane Layug of Cherry Tiggo countered once again.
Layug managed to deadlock the score at 23 and finished their business off Shaya Adorador’s block and Jho Maraguinot’s error, 25-23.
“Definitely I am happy, iba pa rin ang panalo. However, ang dami pa rin talaga naming aayusin kasi doon kami nag relax. Learning experience sa amin yung previous match and that’s done already,” said Chery Tiggo head coach Aaron Velez.
