The Chery Tiggo Crossovers’ insane run in the ongoing Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference is still on full display after overpowering the PLDT High-Speed Hitters in straight sets, 25-22, 25-16, 25-20, on April 16, 2024, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.

It was a collective effort for the rolling Chery Tiggo squad as their newly-found team chemistry and tremendous two-way communication led them to a momentum-boosting win.

Fresh off a drubbing win over the Cignal HD Spikers six days ago, the Crossovers picked up where they left off and immediately jumped in the driver’s seat after bagging the first set.

After taking an early 1-0 lead, Chery Tiggo’s blazing attack continued in the following frame led by the Laure sisters, Eya and EJ.

The dynamic duo answered the call for head coach Kungfu Reyes when the High-Speed Hitters started to make a mini-offensive run that trimmed their deficit to just three points.

Eager to restore order and flip the switch to deny the High-Speed Hitters of grabbing any momentum in the second set, the Crossovers fed Eya Laure and scored back-to-back cross-court hits.

In the tense moments of the set, EJ Laure then delivered the goods after finding an open spot in the back side of PLDT’s libero area.

It was then all Chery Tiggo in the third and final set as Ara Galang’s veteran experience helped them dominate the set and complete the 3-0 sweep.

Leading Chery Tiggo in the scoring department is Eya Laure who tallied 12 points built from 11 successful attacks to go alongside seven excellent digs.

Meanwhile, her sister EJ was the second-best scorer for the Crossovers with 10 markers and six excellent receptions while Galang contributed nine points.

“Collective effort talaga kung paano kami nananalo. Lahat ginagawa nila ang kanilang trabaho. Yan ang isa sa pinakamagandang nangyayari,” said Chery Tiggo head coach Mr. Reyes.
