The Chery Tiggo Pro Crossovers continued their dominant undefeated run after outplaying the stacked F2 Logistics Cargo Movers in three-straight sets, 25-19, 25-14, 25-16, in the ongoing 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference last February 16, 2023.
What was expected to be a close showdown between two of the top teams in the prestigious volleyball league surprisingly turned into a one-sided affair courtesy of Chery Tiggo’s well-executed game plans that caught the Cargo Movers off guard.
Mylene Paat was again at the forefront of the Pro Crossovers’ overwhelming offense after dropping the hammer on F2 Logistics with 22 big points built from 20 successful attacks.
The national team outside hitter quickly went to work and embraced the challenge of going up against F2 Logistics’s twin towers in Ivy Lacsina and Aby Maraño who just had no answers from Paat’s efficient offensive outing.
Paat’s craftiness got away with F2 Logistics’ middle blocking several times including off-the-hand spikes and her signature cross-court kills.
Veteran Chery Tiggo mainstay Shaya Adorador sustained her fine play after contributing 13 big points and six excellent receptions.
Meanwhile, the duo of EJ Laure and Cza Carandang shouldered most of Chery Tiggo’s points in the last two sets, combining 22 points and 15 excellent digs.
“I’m so proud of the ladies, how they really worked hard. Wala kang mapi-pinpoint talaga e kasi yung puso na binigay ng mga players ngayon talagang inalay nila sa isa’t isa,” said Chery Tiggo head coach Aaron Velez.
On the other hand, it was a disappointing performance from the Cargo Movers which just received its first-ever loss in the All-Filipino Conference.
This is the first time that the talented team wasn’t able to reach the 20-point mark in all the three sets. Also, no one from the entire roster was able to deliver double-digit scoring despite tons of open looks from their offensive plays.
The Cargo Movers will be looking to bounce back today when they face another star-studded team in the Creamline Cool Smashers while the Pro Crossovers will gun for its fourth-straight win against the PLDT High-Speed Hitters on February 21, 2023.
