After months of planning and thorough deliberation, the Chooks-to-Go 3×3 professional league is ready for action on the hardwood.
A total of eight teams have already undergone their polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests and the remaining four will have theirs next week.
The Zamboanga City Family’s Brand Sardines, Zamboanga Peninsula Valientes, Gapan Chooks, Bacolod Master Sardines, Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards, Pasig-Sta. Lucia Realtors, Palayan City Capitols, and Porac-Big Boss Cement Green Gorillas were the first batch of teams to have their PCR done.
Meanwhile, the Bicol Volcanoes, Sarangani Marlins, Valenzuela City Classic, and one special select team will have theirs next week.
“Nagkaroon kami ng staggered testing. Yesterday, four teams tested then today we had another four teams. So staggered din ‘yung pag-practice ng teams,” said league commissioner Eric Altamirano.
Since turning professional, Altamirano and the rest of the Chooks management are working closely with the Games and Amusement Board and their chairman Abraham Mitra.
“It’s during this first week where we will see if there are things that we can adjust with our system before we get back to the games itself,” said league owner Ronald Mascariñas.
