Two weeks after the relief and reassignment of Brigadier General Leo Francisco, a new officer has been named as chief of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 6.

Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor was designated as acting PRO-6 director effective May 22, 2023.

Villaflor’s order is contained in General Orders Number 2023-2027 signed by Major General Robert Rodriguez of the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM).

Just like Francisco, Villaflor is also a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 1992.

Before his designation as PRO-6 acting director, Villaflor is the deputy director for administration of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

He also used to be the deputy director of the PNP Logistics Service.

It was when he led the PNP Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA) that he got his star rank in 2020.

As a commander, he used to head the Angeles City Police Office and San Jose City Police Station.

On February 2023, the 53-year-old Villaflor was reportedly one of the choices for the next PRO-3 director.

However, Brigadier General Jose Hidalgo Jr. of PMA Class 1991 got the post.
