BACOLOD City – Police are probing the alleged robbery hold-up incident that victimized a driver and a salesman of a cigarette distributor in Barangay Pahanocoy here last Saturday.
Police Major Joery Puerto, head of Police Station 8, said the salesman was transacting with a client in a sari-sari store when two unidentified persons on a motorcycle arrived.
One of the perpetrators allegedly took the sales collection amounting to P30,000 from the salesman and the key to the panel van’s backdoor from the driver. Both robbers then fled.
Puerto said that based on the closed circuit television (CCTV) camera footage, the robbers did not threaten the victims at gunpoint.
“Wala man sila weapon, gin kuot lang man sang isa ang kwarta sa bulsa. Wala man ka react ang biktima basi tungod sa nerbyos,” he added.
Puerto said that it’s possible that the robbers tailed the victims when they chanced upon them.
“Basi na monitor man sila,” he added.
Puerto said they are checking if the same perpetrators committed the crime in this area and the area of Police Station 7 a few weeks ago.
He said the motorcycle used by the perpetrators is similar to those used by the robbers in Police Station 7.
He said that Police Station 7 has the identities of the suspects. Thus, Puerto said they will present the photos to the victims to check if they could identify them.
