BACOLOD CITY – A retired judge drove into the New Year with a brand-new Toyota Wigo after his name was drawn during the New Year’s countdown raffle hosted by Mayor Alfredo “Albee” Benitez at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC).

Out of 122,019 entries, Danilo De La Rosa Amisola of Barangay Villamonte emerged as the winner at the “High Five sa 2025” event held on January 1.

Amisola claimed the prize on January 2, after the initial winner failed to respond to the city’s notification.

Amisola, a Bacolod Comprehensive Health Program (BacChp) cardholder, served as a judge in Bacolod City for 11 years and in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, for eight years.

The raffle was open to all Bacolod residents aged 18 and above, with guaranteed entries provided to BacChp members, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and senior citizen cardholders.

Major prize winners were contacted for verification, and unclaimed prizes were forfeited.

In addition to the car, other participants won kitchen and home appliances during the raffle.

The celebration was highlighted by performances from Ian Red and Osang the Rock Diva, adding excitement as attendees welcomed the New Year.
