CJ Perez’s name is on the trading block buzz with rumors spreading that he is heading to the San Miguel Beermen.
The super rookie is the favorite to win the Rookie of the Year award after posting 20.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.9 steals per game.
Perez’s stellar first year has turned heads in the PBA and multiple teams would jump at the chance at acquiring the first-year player.
Many expect Columbian Dyip to hang on to the rookie for the foreseeable future but a recent tweet by veteran sports analyst and writer Snow Badua has stirred rumors about Perez moving.
Badua recently tweeted, “San Miguel can go places with a TERRENCE ROMEO-CJ PEREZ tandem while JUNEMAR FAJARDO is away. Can you imagine that? The best youthful backcourt in the league I believe.”
Meanwhile, Perez brushed off the chatter and said he didn’t pay the rumor any attention.
“Ako naman, basta ginagawa ko lang ‘yung tama sa team,” said Perez after a tune-up game against Magnolia at the Ronac Art Center.
