BACOLOD City – Police are eyeing grudges as the motive behind the killing of a purported commercial sex worker at Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2 here yesterday.

Police Lieutenant Jonito Pastrana, deputy station commander of Police Station 2, identified the victim as Renalyn Maming, 23, of La Castellana, Negros Occidental.

Pastrana said the victim was walking when unidentified motorcycle-riding men shot her (at close range), hitting her head that led to her immediate death.

Pastrana said the perpetrators may have waited or tailed the victim who was usually seen loitering in the area.

Police recovered an empty shell of .45-caliber ammunition from the scene.

Pastrana said they already have a person of interest after learning that someone was looking for the victim three days ago.

“May laki nga gapangita daw sa iya, basi client niya man, nga gusto kuhaon ang gamit na nadula na allegedly ara sa biktima,” he added.

Pastrana said the victim had records for theft at the police station as she was previously accused by her clients of allegedly stealing their valuables after their transactions.

But the complainants did not pursue criminal charges against her.

“Basi bala this time na dumtan siya sang client niya,” Pastrana said.

Pastrana said they are tracking the last person that the victim encountered prior to the shooting.
