The Notorious is back!

Conor McGregor, one of the biggest fighters to ever set foot in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), confirmed that he will be facing Michael Chandler this summer and is ready for a highly-anticipated return inside the octagon.

It was McGregor who announced that the fight is already “all systems go” despite UFC president Dana White not formally endorsing the bout.

Two months ago, McGregor already teased his fans with his UFC return after posting a video on X that he is fighting Chandler this June 29, 2024, in Las Vegas.

However, McGregor said that the fight will take place in the 185-lbs division, or the middleweight classification.

“The greatest comeback of all time will take place in Las Vegas for international fight week on June 29th. And the opponent, Michael Chandler. And the weight, Mr. Chandler, 185 pounds,” McGregor said in his video.

McGregor has been out in the UFC since July 10, 2021, after suffering a devastating leg injury in his rematch against Dustin Poirier.

Before exiting the MMA organization, McGregor had been in a slump and ended his last UFC ride with back-to-back losses at the hands of Poirier.

McGregor first made a name for himself when he dominated former UFC featherweight king Jose Aldo in just 16 seconds with a snappy counter punch.

After the career-boosting win over Aldo, McGregor’s stardom quickly rose as he became the UFC’s most-loved superstar while helping President Dana White earn double in the pay-per-views.

On the other hand, Chandler, a known tough bruiser and a calculated aggressor inside the octagon, is also seeking to re-enter the winning column after losing to Poirier last November 2022.

“I always said I wanted you at your biggest, your baddest, and your best. 185 would look good on me,” Chandler replied to McGregor.
