ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A construction worker was arrested on Thursday evening, December 19, for allegedly possessing PHP 88,400 worth of suspected shabu in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the police at a KTV bar along Roxas Avenue.

Police identified the suspect as 39-year-old Edefer Aguilar, a resident of Barangay 8 in this city.

The operation was carried out by the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the Roxas City Police Station.

Authorities recovered six sachets of suspected shabu weighing 13 grams, with an estimated street value of PHP 88,400, along with PHP 3,000 in boodle money used in the buy-bust.

According to Aguilar’s live-in partner, Flor Albino, the arrest was allegedly a police setup while the suspect was inside the KTV bar.

Records revealed that Aguilar had been arrested and jailed for the same offense in 2015 but was released in 2018 after availing of a plea-bargaining agreement.

The suspect is currently under the custody of the Roxas City Police Station, and charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against him.
