THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-6 Regional Office together with the Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) and the planning engineers from the District Engineering Offices recently held a coordination meeting with CCCC Highway Consultants, Co. Ltd., a state-owned company in China.
The meeting focused on the features of the proposed Panay-Guimaras-Negros Bridge which is the subject of CCCCs feasibility study.
OIC-Assistant Regional Director Jose Al V. Fruto and OIC-Chief of Planning and Design Division Engr. Marilou G. Zamora welcomed the guests from the company.
Also present were representatives from national government agencies such as the Department of Tourism (DOT) represented by Regional Director Helen J. Catalbas, Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Environmental Management Bureau (EMB), Provincial Environment Office (PEO) and various Local Government Unit (LGU) representatives from Iloilo, Negros and Guimaras.
The CCCC presented their Feasibility Study Report which is comprised of 10 types of studies covering various scope of work socio-economic and transportation, environmental impact analysis, social impact assessment, geotechnical and geological investigation, engineering survey, seismic safety evaluation, marine hydrologic study, meteorological environment and design wind parameters, navigation and ship impact study, and engineering proposal.
The meeting is part of the series of sit-downs between CCCC Highway Consultants, Co. Ltd., DPWH, and other agencies to provide countermeasures should challenges arise on the proposed bridge project. (DPWHR6/RPAIO)
