BACOLOD City – Councilor Wilson Gamboa urged the Bacolod City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) and the City Engineer’s Office to seek periodic consultation and coordination with the Department of Public Works and Highways, and other government agencies and utility firms regarding infrastructures projects and programs implemented here.

In a resolution, Gamboa asked CPDO head Mary Jean Ramos and City Engineer Belly Aguillon through the Office of Mayor Evelio Leonardia to furnish the Sangguniang Panlungsod with information regarding infrastructure projects.

Gamboa also said that the Local Government Code of 1991 provides that the planning and development coordinator should monitor and evaluate the implementation of the different development programs, projects and activities in the local government unit concerned in accordance with the approved development plan, it said.

“The city engineer should initiate, review and recommend changes in policies and objectives, plans and programs, techniques and procedures, and practices in infrastructure development and public works in general of the local government unit concerned,” Gamboa said.

Proper consultations and coordination should be exercised in order that the implementation of the projects and programs of infrastructure be equitable in terms of benefits and convenience to all stakeholders.
