BACOLOD City – All forms of contact sports, such as basketball, volleyball, and all indoor sports are still not allowed in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares said Tuesday that public sports activities requiring physical contact, such as basketball and volleyball, are still not permitted.
According to the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases’ omnibus guidelines, only outdoor non-contact sports and other forms of exercise such as but not limited to walking, jogging, running, biking, golf, swimming, tennis, badminton, equestrian, range shooting, diving and skateboarding are allowed, the mayor cited.
Lizares said there is no truth to reports circulating on social media that basketball is already allowed to be played within the barangay level.
“Your cooperation, especially of our youth, is highly needed to finally bring down to zero the Covid-19 cases in Talisay,” Lizares said.
