BACOLOD City – Police are looking for witnesses who can give vital information on the killing of a former drug offender in Barangay 6 here last Monday.
This after Police Captain Paul Vincent Pendon, head of Police Station 2, revealed yesterday that they already have one to two persons of interest in the incident.
Junelyn Aligada alias “Tata,” was found dead in an old piggery situated in an isolated area with many grasses and no houses.
Pendon said the victim suffered five gunshot wounds. One each in the chest, right side of the body, and back, and two in the left side of her body, he added.
Pendon earlier, said that they considered the incident as drug-related, because of the victim’s background.
The victim was previously arrested for a drug offense and was released after she served her sentence in 2018, according to Pendon.
She was again arrested in a buy-bust operation, along with her son here last year, the station commander added.
However, her case for conspiracy in the alleged illegal drug trade, was dismissed, while her son is now under probation, according to Pendon.
Pendon believed that the victim might have discreetly met someone for a transaction, considering the area, which is isolated.
