BACOLOD CITY – A man and his alleged teenage accomplice were arrested for possession of P340,000 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Burgos, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, last Monday.

Police withheld the names of the two suspects, aged 41 and 18, who are both residents of Barangay Sicaba.

Police Captain Gina Fernandez, deputy chief of Cadiz City Police Station, said the operation targeted the elder suspect, who is included in their watchlist.

Fernandez stated that the suspect had been under surveillance after receiving information that he was allegedly transporting illegal drugs into the city, making him an alleged drug courier.

Police recovered 50 grams of suspected shabu, P500 in marked money, and P500 in cash from the suspects.

Fernandez added that a .38 caliber revolver with five live rounds was also confiscated from the elder suspect.

She said the elder suspect and the teenager knew each other, and the latter was reportedly aware of the illegal activity.

Police are preparing drug charges against the two suspects, while an additional case for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition will be filed against the elder suspect.
