BACOLOD City – Police are looking into a possible “inside job” in the alleged robbery hold-up on three employees of the Negros Occidental Teachers Federation, Inc. (NOTF), who claimed to have lost P600,000 cash to two unidentified armed men on a motorcycle at the parking lot of the Cyber Centre in Barangay 39 here last Thursday.

Police Major Ramel Sarona, head of Police Station 1, said that three employees of the NOTF, including a liaison officer, went to the Cyber Centre to withdraw cash from a bank.

After a while, one of the two armed robbers allegedly threatened the victims at gunpoint and took their cash while they were about to leave the area on board their car.

But Sarona said the statement of the victims were “inconsistent.”

Based on a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage obtained by the police, the robbers’ motorcycle tailed the victims’ car when they entered the parking lot.

“Dungan man sila sulod,” Sarona said.

The suspects then waited for the victims to board the car, and one of them approached the liaison officer, Sarona said.

But the employees’ vehicle tailed the motorcycle even after the robbery.

“Katingalahan kay kadamo na da tawo, pero wala commotion na natabo, and daw wala gid sila ka react na may security officer man na da,” Sarona said.

Despite the circumstances, Sarona said they will probe the incident as they have no lead yet on the identities of the perpetrators.

The three victims were also subjected to investigation, he added.
