BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here is investigating another vehicle allegedly linked to the killing of provincial consultant for hospital operations Mariano Antonio “Marton” Cui III.
Police Lieutenant Abegael Donasco, Nocppo’s deputy information officer, said that a black Toyota Innova was seen, along with two other vehicles that were already being monitored, to have a possible link to Cui’s slay.
Donasco said the Innova based on a copy of a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage, was seen at Barangay Quezon two hours after the gun attack happened.
The car was reportedly seen following a silver Starex and a white van at Barangay Quezon, she added.
Nocppo had told the media that a Starex and a white van were seen at the crime scene before the shooting incident that happened in Barangay Palampas on April 12.
Despite this development, Donasco said they could not still confirm the links of these vehicles to the fatal shooting.
“Pinapacheck pa namin kasi we cannot speculate anything. We’re not resting naman kasi every now and then we have a meeting,” she said.
Until now, police have yet to reveal possible angles or motives behind the killing of Cui as investigation is ongoing.
Cui, who was gunned down by unidentified perpetrators believed to be on board a white van, was already laid to rest last Tuesday.
