BACOLOD CITY – Police arrested five individuals and confiscated PHP1,083,200 worth of illegal drugs in two separate buy-bust operations in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental on Feb. 11 and 12.
A suspect identified as “Badong,” 28, was arrested in Purok Kabugwason, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, on Feb. 12.
Authorities seized 90 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP810,000 and 10 grams of suspected dried marijuana leaves worth PHP1,200 from him.
Police Capt. Dax Santillan, head of Police Station 7, said the suspect had been under surveillance after being identified by previously arrested drug suspects as an alleged supplier.
Santillan said Badong is classified as a high-value individual and will undergo further investigation.
Four Suspects Nabbed in Kabankalan City
Meanwhile, in Kabankalan City, four individuals were arrested in Barangay Hilamonan on Feb. 11 during a separate buy-bust operation.
Police seized 40 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP272,000 during the operation.
The target of the operation was “Edgar,” 41, who was arrested alongside “Lemuel,” 48, “Noli,” 30, and “Nelson,” 34, all residents of Kabankalan City.
Police Capt. Sammy Gasataya, deputy chief of Kabankalan City Police Station, said Edgar had a previous drug-related arrest.
Authorities also recovered an improvised glass tooter, two improvised plastic straw scoops, PHP500 in marked money, and PHP990 in cash.
Gasataya added that Edgar was also found in possession of a Black Widow 9mm revolver, loaded with five rounds of live ammunition.
