BACOLOD City – A couple was arrested in a raid at Purok Everlasting, Barangay Talacagay, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental last Saturday.
Police identified the suspects as Fedelyn Santocildes, 40, and her partner Jhonrey Ejara, 30, of the said village.
Armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Rodney Magbanua on Oct 14, 2020, police raided the house of Santocildes following reports that the couple allegedly engaged in illegal activities in the area.
Authorities recovered during the search a hand grenade, a .38 caliber revolver with ammunition, a magazine of .45 caliber pistol with seven bullets, a homemade shotgun and five cartridges, two units of Video Karera machine, two sachets of suspected shabu weighing six grams worth P40,800, nine lighters, and two bamboo sticks.
According to Major Clifford Batadhay, town police chief, the couple allegedly accepted pawned firearms.
Batadhay said the couple was also allegedly involved in prostitution as they would offer girls to some clients if needed.
“May ilimnan, videokehan, babaye, tanan nga transactions ara sa ila,” he added.
Batadhay said some persons were present inside the house during the raid but no contraband was recovered from them.
Batadhay said charges for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, illegal possession of explosive and illegal possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia will be filed against the couple who is now under police custody.
