A married couple was killed in a shooting on the evening of November 9 in Dumarao, Capiz.
Romeo Bagaforo, 47, a farmer, and his 48-year-old wife, Regil Bagaforo, of Sitio Magalan, Barangay Sagrada Familia, died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The couple was on their way home on a motorcycle when a group of armed men ambushed them.
The suspects reportedly hid by the roadside, emerged from cover, and opened fire on the Bagaforo couple.
Captain Tobias Garfin, Dumarao police chief, said they are pursuing at least three suspects.
He did not disclose further details about their persons of interest.
“It’s premature to identify the suspects,” Garfin said.
He suggested that personal grudges could be the motive behind the killing but did not elaborate.
Garfin noted that authorities aim to file charges against the suspects as soon as possible.
