BACOLOD City – Three persons, including a couple were arrested in a buy-bust operation that yielded a total of P1,625,200 worth of suspected shabu here on Friday and Sunday.
The biggest haul was reported at Purok Magnolia, Barangay 7 here yesterday, which resulted in the confiscation of 206 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,400,800 from a couple.
Police identified the subject as Rhodora Madrileño, while her live-in partner was Romel Alfar, a cargo driver.
Captain Joven Mogato, head of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said the couple has been under monitoring for more than two months.
Mogato said they are part of a group that allegedly sells illegal drugs.
“Sang time ni (former President Rodrigo) Duterte na lessen ila activities then subong amat-amat naman balik,” he added.
Both are high value individuals, according to Mogato.
Also recovered from them were the P50,000 marked money, P300, a .9mm caliber pistol containing a magazine loaded with five live ammunition owned by Alfar.
Drug charges are being readied against the suspects, while an additional case for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition will be filed against Alfar, according to Mogato.
Meanwhile, a woman was arrested for the fourth time in a drug bust at Purok Kabugwason, Barangay Mansilingan here last Friday.
Police identified the subject as Marecel Mendoza, 40, of the said village.
Mendoza allegedly yielded 33 grams of suspected shabu worth P224,400, the P500 marked money, an improvised glass tooter, a digital weighing scale, and P450.
Captain Andy Ofalia, head of Police Station 7, said the suspect was placed under surveillance again after they learned that she allegedly returned to engaging in the illegal drug trade.
The last time she was released from jail was in September last year after serving her sentence, he added.
Drug charges have been filed against the suspect.
