ROXAS CITY, Capiz— Two farmer-cousins were injured after they hacked each other Friday afternoon at Brgy. Dinginan here.
Police identified the two cousins as Remundo Alimen, 65, and Adelino Amante 72, both of Brgy. Dinginan.
Police Master Sergeant Ronnie Recto, investigator of the Roxas City police station, said Carolino Alimen, a brother of Remundo, went to their rice farm around 5 pm Friday.
Adelino, who was also there, confronted Carolino about leaving their carabao that ate the former’s rice crops. But Remundo denied the accusation.
A heated argument ensued between the two that resulted in a hacking duel.
Remundo suffered hacked wounds on his ear and neck while Adelino was wounded on the foot.
The two were taken to separate hospitals.
