ROXAS CITY, Capiz – COVID-19 has infected 4,954 persons in the province of Capiz.
Based on data released by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) on Saturday, 4,243 or 86.65% have recovered, and 262 or 5.29% died, while 449 or 9.06% are active cases.
On the other hand, 24 more persons were infected in Roxas City as of July 17, 2021, while 8 have recovered.
Most of the active cases in the province either have mild symptoms or asymptomatic.
The PHO reported that of the 428 active cases, 48.15% have mild symptoms, 34.39% were asymptomatic while 17.36% either in moderate, severe, or critical condition.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) together with personnel of Pilar Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and Pilar police established border checkpoint at the boundary of Capiz-Iloilo at Sitio Dulunan, Brgy. San Nicolas, Pilar, Capiz, on July 18, 2020.
The checkpoint aims to strictly implement the protocols and guidelines of Executive Order No. 22-C Series of 2021, an order amending Executive Order No. 22-B issued by Governor Esteban Evan Nonoy Contreras to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the province.
