BACOLOD City – Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran confirmed Wednesday that five persons who participated in the recent mass testing and later tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-9 are the subject of a search operation by the city government.
Familiaran told Daily Guardian they are at a loss on how to locate these persons.
He said that after the mass testing, at least 28 persons cannot be immediately located. The number was later whittled down to five “missing persons.”
Familiaran also lamented that the five missing persons used fictitious names, with one even using the name of a deceased person.
“Ka mga tonto gid, (How foolish of them),” Familiaran mused.
He said the police and Barangay Health Workers are looking for the five persons.
It can be recalled that more than 4,000 residents in the city participated in the mass testing held last August 28 and 29, 2020.
Result of the mass testing showed that more than 500 persons were positive for the virus.
Familiaran also lamented that the quarantine period for these COVID-19 positive persons has already lapsed.
They could have infected their kin, he said.
