BACOLOD City – Dr. Grace Tan, spokesperson of the City Inter- Agency Task Task Force on Coronavirus, said Monday that there are 20 Persons under Monitoring (PUM) for COVID-19.
But Tan said that there are no more Persons Under Investigation (PUI) in hospitals here.
The 20 PUMs came in the city last Friday.
Tan said 13 came from South Korea, 1 from Singapore, 4 from Malaysia, 1 from Japan, and 1 from Malaysia.
“Nineteen are Filipinos and one is a foreigner,” she added.
The City Health Office (CHO) is monitoring the PUMs daily in their respective residence.
Tan pointed out that they are considered PUMs because they came from restricted areas. Thirteen of them came from Seoul in South Korea where the restricted areas are Daegu and Cheongdo.
Tan also said that the 20 voluntarily went to the CHO and declared their travel histories.
Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, head of the City Inter-Agency Task Group on Coronavirus, urged the public to refrain from discriminating Koreans and Chinese who are already in the city before the outbreak of COVID -19.
Familiaran said there are Korean and Chinese students in the city, and they should not be “discriminated.”
Mayor Evelio Leonardia said he will write to airline companies and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) to help implement the health declaration form.
Leonardia said the policy should also be implemented in seaports.
