BACOLOD City – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Bacolod temporarily suspended its operations from January 18 to 22 after five of their personnel tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Atty. Renoir Baldovino, NBI-Bacolod head, said the infected personnel exhibited light symptoms such as coughing and colds. They were members of the administrative and clearance staff, he added.
“Upon the advice of the local Inter-Agency Task Force, we shut down our office up to Friday to give way for disinfection. Those who tested negative also went on voluntary quarantine,” Baldovino said.
Baldovino said they were already transferred to the city’s quarantine facility.
Swab tests were conducted to other staff and all tested negative of the virus, including him.
Baldovino said the operations of the office will resume on January 25, after a thorough disinfection.
He said that contact tracing is ongoing.
