CSWDO gets two new cars

ILOILO CITY Mayor Jose Espinosa III turned over two patrol cars to City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) during the flag ceremony April 1.

“These patrol cars are our augmentation to the CSWDO which is considered as one of the busiest offices of City Hall. We have experienced a lot of fire incidents lately and when typhoons come, we need evacuation. It will be easier to transport relief goods to evacuees,” Espinosa said.

Presently, CSWDO is using one multi-cab and is not enough to transport relief goods especially when the staff need to respond to two disasters at the same time, said CSWDO head Gene Garingalo.

“This is a big help for us because aside from transporting relief goods, our staff are also attending seminars and are conducting operation at night in relation to curfew ordinance. These patrol cars will also be used for roving,” Garingalao said.

Espinosa has previously turned over patrol cars to Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), Iloilo City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), and Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO). (PIO)
