With the heated social media war between current UFC welterweight champion Israel “the last stylebender” Adesanya and light heavyweight titleholder Jon “Bones” Jones, everybody thought that the mega-fight between them would be the next in line.
But UFC president Dana White announced that the mega-fight between Adesanya and Jones isn’t in their plans yet and is still far from discussion, as Adesanya just won his welterweight belt and should defend it to other hungry fighters in the division such as Kelvin Gastelum and Paulo Costa.
Meanwhile after dominating rival Daniel Cormier, Alexander Gustaffson and Brazilian Thiago Santos, team Jones is planning to move up to the heavyweight class and conquer the wild and stacked division.
Jones plans to challenge champion Stipe Miocic and the other heavyweight elites such as Francis Negganou, Alistair Overeem, and Fabricio Werdum.
The ongoing heated Twitter war between Adesanya and Jones will only add to the anticipation and hype, and hopefully convince White to arrange the match in what will be the biggest fight of the year next to McGregor and Nurmagomedov.
