DAR to distribute CLOAs to 249 Capiz farmers

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – 249 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARB’s) will receive today, March 23, 2021, Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs) from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).

Capiz Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Anthony Arostique said that DAR Secretary John Castriciones will personally attend the CLOA distribution and turnover of common service facilities.

The distribution of 398 hectares of lands to 249 agrarian reform beneficiaries was delayed because of the cases being appealed to the higher court.

A huge part of the lands to be distributed are the 188.08-hectare landholdings of the late Nemesio Tan to 175 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs), while 209.94 hectares of private agricultural lands from the towns of Maayon, Panay, Panitan, Pontevedra, Pres. Roxas and Tapaz would be distributed to 74 ARBs.

Arostique said that Castriciones would also provide farmers with various support services, which include a Php 4.547-million worth of farm machines, equipment, and common services facilities to the different agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations (ARBOs) in the province.

DAR would also provide a Php 2.344-million worth of livelihood projects under its Convergence on Livelihood Assistance for ARBs Projects (CLAAP) which include hog raising, meat processing, and vegetable production.

The distribution of CLOA will be held at the Capiz State University (CapSU) Pilar Campus at around 9am.
