BACOLOD City – Police are probing the alleged shooting incident that happened between occupants of two cars at City Heights Subdivision, Barangay Taculing here yesterday.
Major Leo Estopa, head of Police Station 6, said they received reports about the incident from some concerned citizens in the village.
Estopa said that based on their investigation, some persons on a blue Ford Everest and a gray Toyota Vios were seen shooting at each other while passing by the area around 12 p.m.
Another car parked at the roadside was even damaged after its windshield was hit by a stray bullet, the station commander added.
“Based sa witnesses, kabati sila may naglupok, so possible may exchange of fire, pero wala mabal-an ang mga tawo sa sulod sang duwa ka salakyan,” Estopa said, adding that no injuries were reported.
Some residents turned over to the police 10 empty shells of a .45 caliber ammunition.
Estopa said they will have to check some closed circuit television (CCTV) camera in the area to determine what really happened.
One of the CCTV footages showed a car passing by the scene of the incident.
But upon verification with the Land Transportation Office (LTO), the car plate does not exist in its database, leading to the possibility that it is fake.
Estopa said they could not yet establish the motive.
