State-owned Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) recently installed the first Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in Kalilangan, a second-class municipality in the province of Bukidnon, as part of its mission to reach more Filipinos in rural communities by expanding the touchpoints for formal financial services. The DBP touchscreen ATM is expected to benefit the municipality’s constituents, particularly 1,400 public teachers, indigenous peoples beneficiaries, and 500 local government employees who used to travel to nearby municipalities for their banking needs.
